 Thank you for favouriting my work

 Thank you for even just looking

All of it is appreciated and I will eventually get back to you although it can take months as I'm not the most active member at the best of times.

Part of the delay however has been due to a conflict on my system between the new version of AOL and some other programmes. It has taken me a while to actually get anything to show up here at all which was strange as it seems this was the only site affected. The pages wouldn't load or if they did I couldn't see any pictures and galleries, including my own, were just a blank page :(

It now seems ok after some fiddling about with the comp, here's hoping it stays that way!!

Have a great summer everyone!!

What really matters

..and so it begins, another year. It amuses me how people have lost the basic concept of life. They think they will spontaniously combust if they don't get armfuls of stuff they'll never wear/use in the after Xmas sales, they think their ungrateful children will hate them forever if they don't buy every expensive 'must have' toy that they greedily demand, they think people won't like them unless they wear this particular brand of overpriced jeans or have the latest all singing all dancing gadget! If that's how you spend every year then I pity you, you will never be happy or content if you keep letting others dictate how you should live or look, it's your life not theirs. As long as you are sensible, polite, respectful and still remember how to smile then you're fine and if people still don't accept you as you are then they're not worth even bothering about as they will only keep making you miserable.

When you strip away all the glitz and glamour, the human mess, it all boils down to the same thing, a passing of seasons, the natural world renewing itself or at least trying to, life, birth, death. All that matters is that you have shelter, food and water, and perhaps someone to spend your time with. This has been the way for millions of years and will be long after we are gone. Step back from your little tiny human box for a while and take some time to actually look at the world around you, see what really matters and what is really important before you become so swallowed up and brainwashed by the demands of this so called civilized consumer society that you lose everything that is of any real importance and it all kills you.

SEASON'S GREETINGS everyone.
May you all have the festive season you hoped for and all the best for the New Year ahead!!

It has been a long time since I posted anything as I lost all motivation. It happens to me every so often and I just wait for it to return of it's own accord.
As you can see I have had some inspiration lately from the world of Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD). They are a fantastic creation, you can customise them to suit your own taste, make them into characters, then change them all again. Some are works of art and are breathtakingly beautiful.

They are not to everyone's taste but to me, as an artist, they are a different 'canvas' to work on almost, they inspire me.

I love the sunshine, I love the warmth, I love the cleansing feeling you get taking a walk in the first light of a new day, I love the way leaves almost glow as the sun shines through them, the way the light dances through the trees in the woodland, the way dust sparkles as it twists in shafts of sunlight, the gold/rose beauty of the last rays of the sun before it sets in the evening. I love the froth of delicate pinks and white as trees blossom, showering the world in confetti made of silky petals, I love hearing the birds singing, the gentle buzzing of insects. I love feeling renewed, refreshed, almost reborn just by taking the time to connect with nature and all her wonders. Can anything man made ever beat the sheer perfection of a drop of morning dew cradled in a blade of grass, a perfect sphere glistening and shining in the sun?

Finally....FINALLY....I think and hope I managed to get back to everyone who favourited/commented/watched and thanked them. If I have missed anyone I do apologise and consider my wrist slapped!!

I am starting to feel the need to draw and paint returning now that I have been off anti-depressants for some time. I know they are there to help but they kill my ability to create which leads to frustration which leads to more depression so I have decided to just try and cope on my own. I'd rather have the ups and downs than be shackled, even if sometimes the constant bombardment of information to my senses makes me feel like my head is going to cave in. I know my filters don't work but that means I see things others don't, it makes me who and what I am, I just need to learn to accept and live with that.
